Take a look at this "Liquor Privatization Roundup" from John Geeting at his Lehigh Valley Independent blog. The payoff is key: "Restricting the PLCB's mission solely to public health regulation is the best option for the largest number of consumers, while the current system is only good for a handful of public liquor store employees and rent-seeking liquor license holders."
Other people are thinking and writing about this a lot more. Keep it going. I'll try to do more...to keep it going.
"Not that you're wrong, but is there really any hope of either guy
ReplyDeletedoing anything to the PLCB? I don't see Corbett leading a charge for
reform, he's just mildly not against the idea of reform (which won't
happen). I hated the Onorato tax when I lived in Pittsburgh, and I
hate the idea now, but at least he's honest about the fact that the
PLCB system ain't goin' nowheres."
GREG FIRST OF ALL CORBETT IS GOING TO WIN AND HE WILL REFORM THE STORES THE STATE WILL BE IN A HOLE OF 4 TO 5 BILLION DOLLARS NEXT YEAR SO THEY WILL NEED THE MONEY. BY GETTING RID OF THE PLCB IT HAS BEEN A LONG PROCESS WHICH NOW IS COMMING AHEAD, BELIEVE ME THEY WILL CHANGE THE PLCB THEY HAVE TO BE SLOW SO THAT IT IS DONE CORRECTLY AND NOT A HALF ASS JOB, SO BE PRACTICE THINGS WILL CHANGE.THE MENTALIST
